## What is Authority?

**Authority** is AI Syndicate's credibility monitor — the receipts an AI engine checks before it recommends anyone. Before an engine cites or recommends a brand, it weighs the evidence: who vouches for the brand, who writes for it, what it can prove, and how deep its body of work runs. Authority scans the brand's **entire site (up to 2,000 pages)** and the places machines look for credibility, then composes **four pillars** into **one honest, transparent grade** with nightly trend history.

Brand Intel asks whether AI knows WHO you are. Reputation asks what AI THINKS of you. Authority asks why AI would BELIEVE you.

## The four pillars

1. **Vouchers** — who vouches for you: the real sources AI engines cite when they talk about you, and the genuine links pointing your way. Shown, not estimated.
2. **Experts** — the named humans behind your content: authors, titles, credentials, expertise — and the byline gaps (money pages publishing with nobody's name on them).
3. **Credentials** — what you can prove: verified profiles on the platforms machines trust, certifications and licenses found on your pages, the trust signals buyers check — with missing high-value profiles surfaced as wins.
4. **Corpus** — the depth of your body of work: the full site, newsletter and archives, and whether the machines that matter can actually read any of it.

Plus **off-site gravity** — community threads, video reach, news coverage, knowledge-graph presence, and social footprint, every mention checked to actually be about the brand — and **one grade, trending**: a transparent composite of the four pillars with the breakdown always shown, and history accruing nightly.

## No invented numbers

- **Evidence or nothing.** Every pillar is built from receipts you can inspect — the actual sources, authors, profiles, and pages. No proprietary "domain rating," no estimates dressed as data.
- **About you, or not counted.** Off-site mentions are checked to actually be about the brand; unattributable mentions are left out. Undercounting honestly beats overcounting flatteringly.
- **Unknown reach stays blank.** Where a platform won't let reach be measured truthfully, nothing is shown — never a made-up follower count.
- **A grade you can audit.** The composite is a transparent read over four visible pillars; the per-pillar breakdown is always beside it.
- **Honest empties.** A young brand with no coverage sees empty sections that say so — the gaps are the to-do list, and history shows the pillars fill as work lands.

## How it works

1. **Scan** — the entire site (up to 2,000 pages) is read for the evidence machines look for: named authors and credentials, verified profiles, certifications, trust pages, archives, unsigned pages.
2. **Gather** — the public record about the brand: sources AI engines cite, community threads, video reach, news coverage, knowledge-graph presence — every mention checked to be about the brand.
3. **Grade** — four pillars compose into one transparent grade, breakdown always shown. Nothing is a black box; nothing is invented.
4. **Build** — the weakest pillar becomes the fix list: name the experts, claim the profiles, open the archive, earn the vouchers. Nightly history makes progress provable.

## Authority vs. backlink & domain-authority tools

- **Backlink/DA tools** answer "what's your domain rating?" — a proprietary estimate from a black-box formula, plus mention counts that include same-name strangers.
- **Authority** answers "why would an AI believe you — and can you show the receipts?" — a transparent composite of four visible pillars, the named humans behind your content, the sources AI engines actually cite, and nightly history on evidence that provably moves.

## FAQ

**What is Authority?** The credibility monitor: a full-site scan plus the public record about you, composed into four pillars (Vouchers, Experts, Credentials, Corpus) and one honest grade with trends.

**What are the four pillars?** Vouchers (who cites you), Experts (who writes for you), Credentials (what you can prove), Corpus (how deep your work runs).

**Where does the data come from?** Your own site, scanned in full, and public data about you across the web. The exact sources and weighting stay ours.

**Is this Domain Rating renamed?** No — the opposite. DA metrics are invented estimates; Authority only shows numbers backed by inspectable evidence, with the breakdown always beside the grade.

**What if there's no data about my brand yet?** You see honest empties, not padded charts — and nightly history shows the pillars fill as the work lands.

**How do you avoid same-name confusion?** Off-site mentions only count when they're actually about you; unattributable ones are left out.

**Does it track social following?** Presence always (read from your own site); reach only where it can be measured truthfully — never a made-up count.

**Which plans include it?** Every plan — full-site scan, four pillars, off-site coverage, grade, and nightly history.

**How is it different from Brand Intel and Reputation?** Brand Intel = does AI know WHO you are. Reputation = what does AI THINK of you. Authority = why would AI BELIEVE you.

## Glossary

- **Voucher** — a real source that vouches for a brand: a place AI engines actually cite about it, or a genuine inbound link.
- **Pillar** — one of the four evidence categories, each with a stated bar for "established" and a visible strength.
- **E-E-A-T** — Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust: what search and AI systems look for in the humans behind content.
- **Byline gap** — a page published with nobody's name on it; to a machine weighing expertise, an unsigned page is a shrug.
- **Knowledge-graph presence** — whether the structured databases machines consult know the brand exists.
- **Authority grade** — the transparent composite of the four pillars, breakdown always shown.
