## What is Competitors?

**Competitors** is AI Syndicate's market scoreboard for AI search. Buyers ask AI who to hire, and the answers keep naming the same few brands. Competitors puts names on the board: **your real share of the answers, the rivals taking the rest, and every move they make to stay there** — measured, never estimated. Name up to 25 rivals (or accept auto-detected suggestions — brands the AI answers in your market are already citing) and see share of voice, true rank, gap prompts, side-by-side scores, and a nightly log of every rival change.

## What you get

1. **Rivals you name — and rivals we spot** — add up to 25 competitors by domain, or accept auto-detected suggestions: brands the AI answers in your market are already citing. Rival sets are scoped per site profile.
2. **Share of voice, with your true rank** — your measured slice of the market's AI answers, ranked honestly. The leaderboard never skips your slot to flatter you; tiny shares read "<1%", and the unclaimed share is shown too.
3. **Gap prompts, named** — the exact buyer questions where a rival gets cited and you're absent. One click re-runs any gap prompt in the Prompt Simulator to read the full answer that left you out.
4. **The comparison matrix** — AI Access score, SEO score, security grade, and AI-crawler access, side by side for you and every rival, sortable and filterable — scored with the same rulers your own dashboard tabs use.
5. **The nightly watch** — every rival's public site swept every night: new pages, structured data added or lost, AI-crawler access opening or closing, an llms.txt appearing. Each change logged once, when it happens.
6. **Grades, not dirt** — a rival's security appears as a grade only, for benchmarking. Their specific findings are never shown; your own site gets the full detail.

## Never estimated

- **Real answers, real share.** Every point of share of voice was earned in a real AI answer — no proprietary "visibility index," no percentages modeled from data you never see. The unclaimed share is on the board too.
- **Your true rank, stated plainly.** If you're fourth, the board says fourth — that's what makes second mean something.
- **Events fire once, or never.** The watch's first look is a silent baseline, never a fake news feed. No manufactured "activity."
- **Public data only.** Everything comes from pages any visitor or AI crawler can read and answers anyone can ask for. No accounts, no pretexts, no bought data.
- **The same rulers.** Rivals are scored with the exact same scorers the brand's own dashboard uses — no home-field advantage, and the board says so when depths differ.

## How it works

1. **Name** — add rivals by domain or accept the auto-detected suggestions — brands the AI answers in your market already cite. Up to 25, scoped per site profile.
2. **Measure** — the scoreboard fills in: share of voice measured from real AI answers with your true rank, the unclaimed share, and side-by-side scores on every rival's site using the same rulers your own dashboard uses.
3. **Watch** — every night, every rival's public site is swept and every change is logged once: new pages, schema added or lost, AI-crawler access flips, an llms.txt appearing.
4. **Counter** — open any gap prompt, re-run it in the Prompt Simulator, and read the answer that left you out — then fix what it rewarded and watch the share move.

## Competitors vs. rank trackers & visibility indexes

- **Rank trackers and visibility indexes** answer "what position is my keyword?" — positions on a results page AI answers don't have, and index scores modeled from data you never see.
- **Competitors** answers "who is winning my market's AI answers — and by how much?" — real share from real AI answers with true rank and the unclaimed share, real audits of every rival's site with the same scorers your own tabs use, gap prompts you can replay, and a nightly log of every rival move.

## FAQ

**What is Competitors?** The market scoreboard for AI search: up to 25 named rivals, measured share of voice, true rank, gap prompts, side-by-side scores, and a nightly log of every rival move.

**How is share of voice measured?** From real AI answers — the responses engines actually give to the prompts tracked for your market. Nothing is modeled from search volume or a proprietary index; the unclaimed share is shown too.

**How do rivals get on the board?** Add any competitor by domain, or accept auto-detected suggestions — brands the AI answers in your market are already citing. Up to 25, scoped per site profile.

**What is a gap prompt?** A buyer question where a rival gets cited and you're absent — listed by name, re-runnable in the Prompt Simulator with one click.

**What does the comparison matrix score?** Four sortable columns per rival: AI Access score, SEO score, security grade, and AI-crawler access — the same scorers the brand's own dashboard uses, with any depth difference stated on the board.

**What does the nightly watch catch?** New pages, structured data added or lost, AI-crawler access opening or closing, an llms.txt appearing. First look is a silent baseline; each change is reported once.

**Can I see a rival's security problems?** No — deliberately. A rival's security is a grade for benchmarking, never a findings list. Nobody gets handed a target list.

**Is any of this scraping private data?** No. Everything comes from public information — pages any visitor or AI crawler can read, and AI answers anyone can ask for.

**Which plans include Competitors?** AI Radar and up — the full board: up to 25 named rivals, share of voice, gap prompts, the comparison matrix, and the nightly watch.

**Versus a rank tracker?** Rank trackers watch positions on a results page; AI answers don't have positions — they have a shortlist. Competitors measures who's on it, by how much, and what they just did about it.

## Glossary

- **Share of voice** — your slice of your market's AI answers, measured from the answers engines actually give — never modeled from an index. Tiny but real shares read "<1%".
- **True rank** — your honest position on the leaderboard; the ranking never skips your slot to flatter you.
- **Gap prompt** — a buyer question where a rival gets cited and you're absent — replayable in the Prompt Simulator.
- **Unclaimed share** — the portion of your market's AI answers that names no tracked brand at all — the cheapest share to take.
- **Competitor watch** — the nightly sweep of every rival's public site; first look seeds a silent baseline, every change after that is logged once.
- **Comparison matrix** — the side-by-side board: AI Access, SEO, security grade, and AI-crawler access for you and every rival, scored with the same rulers your own tabs use.
