Profound alternatives in 2026: seven options, one table.
Profound is built for large enterprises and sells its paid plan through sales. If you want a published price, a smaller budget, a local focus or a team to do the work, here are seven alternatives and who each one suits.
Who wrote this: This is AI Syndicate's own comparison, published on our own site, and we rank ourselves first, so we are not neutral. Every fact about another company comes from that company's own website, read on 6 October 2026, with the link beside it. We also say plainly when Profound is the better pick.
The best Profound alternative depends on why you're leaving. For published prices, every AI engine and fixes with a team on hand, we rank AI Syndicate first, from $99/month. Otterly.AI is the cheapest monitoring at $29/month. Semrush and Ahrefs suit SEO teams. Peec AI, Scrunch and AthenaHQ suit marketing teams with bigger budgets.
What is Profound, and who is it built for?
Profound calls itself "the AI platform to power your marketing". It tracks how your brand shows up in AI answers, and its "AI Marketer" agents act on what they find: its homepage says it "rewrites pages with citation decay and stages them in your CMS". It also offers Prompt Volumes (what people ask AI), ChatGPT Shopping tracking and AI agent traffic analytics (homepage).
It is aimed at big teams. Its homepage says its enterprise capabilities are "trusted by a third of the Fortune 100", and its menus name AEO, content, PR and brand teams, agencies, and the travel, retail and pharmaceutical industries.
On its pricing page there are two plans:
- Trial — free. 50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, unlimited seats, no exports, API or data history.
- Enterprise — custom price via "Get a Demo". Up to 9 answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search), unlimited seats, dedicated support, and SSO/SAML plus SOC 2 compliance.
If you're a large enterprise, that is a strong package. People look elsewhere mostly because they want to see a price first, have a smaller budget, or want someone to do the work. For a head-to-head, see AI Syndicate vs Profound.
How do the Profound alternatives compare?
Every competitor fact here is from that company's own site, read on 6 October 2026. Prices change, so check the linked page before you buy.
| Tool | Who it says it's for | Lowest published paid price | AI engines on that plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Syndicate | One person in one market up to multi-location brands and agencies | $99/month (AI Pulse) | All 12 on every plan |
| Otterly.AI | "Solo marketers, and small teams" (Lite) | $29/month, 15 prompts | 4: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot; Claude, AI Mode and Gemini are paid add-ons |
| Ahrefs Brand Radar | Marketers tracking brand mentions in AI answers | From $50/month (Custom Prompts) | AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot; $699/month for all models |
| Peec AI | "SEO and content managers getting started" (Starter) | $95/month, 50 prompts | Choose 3 models; Enterprise up to 13 |
| Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit | Teams already doing SEO in Semrush | $99/month | Names Google AI Mode and ChatGPT |
| Scrunch | Teams that want to "evaluate Scrunch" and set benchmarks (Core) | $250/month, 125 prompts | 4: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AIO, Copilot; Enterprise 9 |
| AthenaHQ | "Self-guided SMBs" (Starter) | $295/month, 3,600 credits | 11, incl. Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Mistral |
| Profound (for reference) | Enterprise marketing teams | Custom; free 7-day trial | Trial 3; Enterprise up to 9 |
Each tool counts usage differently — prompts, credits, checks or (for us) tokens — so a straight price-per-prompt comparison doesn't work. Compare on what you'd actually run each month.
Which Profound alternative should I pick?
1. AI Syndicate — best if you want a published price, every engine and help fixing things
Every self-serve plan is the full platform with all 12 AI engines, including ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Meta AI, Grok, DeepSeek and Mistral. AI Pulse is $99/month (or $990/year), AI Pro $299 and AI Max $999; plans differ only in monthly tokens, seats and markets. Findings come as ranked fixes with the code included, and the same scan re-checks the page afterwards. For local businesses, it tracks Google Business Profile health and map-pack rank and checks your listings on 13 platforms. For done-for-you, AI Managed ($3,000–$8,500/month) adds a dedicated account manager, and AI Command (from $25,000) is the tier where our team builds and ships the work. See pricing.
Trade-off: we're a young company, security paperwork such as SOC 2 is not listed on our pricing page, and a token allowance caps how much you can run each month.
2. Otterly.AI — best for the smallest budget
Lite is $29/month ($25/month billed yearly) for 15 prompts on four engines, with unlimited team members and daily tracking. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini cost extra. Standard ($189) and Premium ($489) add API, MCP and Agent Analytics. Otterly offers a free trial (pricing).
3. Ahrefs Brand Radar — best if your team already uses Ahrefs
Brand Radar tracks your brand across "AI answers, YouTube, and Reddit". Custom Prompts start at $50/month, and the AI Visibility Index, which searches "447M real prompts", is $199/month. Ahrefs says free AI prompts come with its paid plans — 5 on Lite (Brand Radar).
4. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit — best if you live in Semrush
Semrush's help centre lists the toolkit at $99/month with no free trial. It tracks prompts on "platforms like Google AI Mode and ChatGPT" and audits your site for AI crawler blockers (toolkit). Bundled SEO + AI Search plans start at $199/month with 50 prompts tracked daily (pricing).
5. Peec AI — best for marketing teams focused on analytics
Starter is $95/month for 50 prompts, three models of your choice and unlimited users; Pro is $245 and Advanced $495. Extra models are a paid add-on, and Enterprise covers up to 13 models with SSO (pricing). Peec says it is trusted by "3000+ brands and agencies".
6. Scrunch — best for brands that want an AI-only version of their site
Core is $250/month for 125 prompts, five user licences and four models, with a 7-day free trial. Enterprise adds AXP (its Agent Experience Platform), nine models, API access and SAML/OIDC SSO, at a custom price (pricing).
7. AthenaHQ — best for wide engine coverage on a mid-size budget
AthenaHQ has a free Essential plan with a $25 credit across five engines. Starter is $295/month for 3,600 credits (1 credit = 1 AI response) across 11 models, with unlimited seats and a content optimization agent. Annual billing is 17% off (plans).
How do I choose the right one?
Start with why you're looking past Profound, then match it:
| If you want… | Look at |
|---|---|
| The lowest monthly bill | Otterly.AI ($29) or Ahrefs Custom Prompts (from $50) |
| A published price with every major engine | AI Syndicate (12 engines at $99) or AthenaHQ (11 at $295) |
| One login with your SEO tool | Semrush or Ahrefs |
| Local map-pack and listings tracking | AI Syndicate (on every plan) |
| Someone to do the work for you | AI Syndicate's AI Managed or AI Command |
| Enterprise SSO and a custom contract | Profound, or the Enterprise tiers of Peec AI, Scrunch and AthenaHQ |
Our advice: before you buy anything, run the same test on your top two choices.
- Write down 10 questions your customers really ask, such as "best family dentist in Tampa".
- Check which engines your customers use, and confirm the plan you'd pay for covers them — not just the top tier.
- Ask who makes the changes. A tracker shows the gap; someone still has to close it.
- Price a full year, including add-ons, extra models and seats.

When is Profound still the better pick?
Stay with Profound, or start there, if most of these are true:
- Your security team needs SSO/SAML and SOC 2 before signing. Profound lists both on its Enterprise plan.
- You have a large team. Profound includes unlimited seats on both of its plans.
- You sell products online and want to track ChatGPT Shopping "at SKU-level granularity across merchants and retailers".
- You want research on what people ask AI. Profound's Prompt Volumes says it analyzes "billions of real user conversations".
- You want software agents to draft and stage page changes in your CMS rather than doing it by hand.
- A custom enterprise contract is normal for you, and you want dedicated support.
If that's you, the alternatives above may feel small. If it isn't, you may be paying for capacity you won't use.
